Methinks there are a few things to especially focus on, however:

- what the income tax actually is (hint, it's an excise tax on federally-connected activities¹)

- whether thou actually qualifies for it (there is a slideshow that can help with this)

- what to do if thou does not qualify (language for one, action for another)

Additionally, if me may, a comment on avoiding and evading taxes:

According to Ballentine's Law Dictionary (1933), avoidance of taxes means

    Permissible acts and conduct, as distinguished from the reprehensible "evasion" of taxes.

Tax evasion itself means

    Fraud in representation or concealment in attempting to avoid payment of a tax legally due, as in the case of an income tax, the filing of a return fraudulently understated in a willful attempt to evade payment

Basically, to avoid is to make void (i.e. nullify), which is perfectly legal depending on the contract; evasion is illegal for any contract.

All of these definitions denote some sort of closeness, usually benign. Such are listed on most etymology sites. But as usual, a more obscure context hides in the shadows, waiting to flip one's perception of everything.

In chess, a checkmate occurs when a king is placed into a position where he cannot escape; this is given in Persian as shāh māt — the king is at a loss. However, when the Arabs borrowed this phrase, it became al-shāh māta — the king has died.¹ The verb māta is the version that made its journey towards Europe and beyond.

It is rather funny that mate and checkmate look to have been popularized around the same time, starting around the 14th century. Other words come to mind: 

- matar ("to kill" in Spanish and Portuguese)

-- matador ("killer" in Spanish; in bullfighting, they kill bulls)

- mort (French for "death" or "to have died" --, such as in the phrase "Le roi est mort, vive le roi!" - The king has died, long live the king, which originated from 1422

It looks as if the term mate carries darker implications than what are usually known to us. For one, since a shipmate is below a captain in rank, one could interpret this as them being able to be disposed of by their superiors. Additionally, it's ironic that mating is considered as bringing life to new friends², love, and babies, when the aforementioned contexts show it to mean cutting down those parts of life.

Wonder if the various post offices overlooked them, when sending state to state. My local post-office started pushing back, but those were letters for delivery in other states. 

Nonetheless, the two-cent local drop-letter rate is cheap and could help educate people about difference between states and the federal alliance govt.  

Me does not have any links for non-corporate postage at the moment, but based on the tests already shown by the Guide here, we already know that it works for the states Washington, Virginia, and Tennessee, along with aforementioned Oklahoma and California. That's a pretty far range.

It likely caps at 4 cents postage within every state (technically 2, but some say 3), considering that the statutes were never updated since 1863!

It actually made me consider the meaning of post, which could be interpreted as within the military. However, this link ( https://web.archive.org/web/20190619163916/http://www.usavsus.info/USA-Biblical%20Post.html ) gives alternative definitions. So far, it looks innocuous, but if nothing else, one could use put^* or message in place of post (message box, message board, message office, message service, keep you messaged).

Other than that, how did thou actually get a response as to whether the letters were gotten? Online services only use United States as far as me is concerned.
