Thou may have read that Wesley Snipes was convicted of something related to the federal income tax. His tax adviser supposedly was convicted as well and received the harsher sentence of possibly 10 years. The church, SEDM, claims that his adviser missed a key point.
The adviser did say that the government is required to show the statute was printed in the Federal Register if it applies to American Nationals (non resident aliens compared to DC gov). But the IRS may have argued this is not the case. And that is true if the target of the complaint works for the federal government.
The tax adviser failed to ask for proof that Wesley Snipes works for the federal government.
SEDM explains it well. Start at about the 51 minute mark. The entire video was well worth my time.
